Buddhism in the Middle of Hamburg

The Buddhist Center Hamburg is the most-visited center in Germany. Seminars, events, daily meditation after work, as well as collaboration with schools make this project the central venue for Buddhism in Hamburg. With the active and financial help of numerous people throughout Europe and with support from the city, an old ship carpentry was purchased and reconstructed in 1998. A meditation hall, library, book shop, café, lecture halls and living areas are all located on the 1,700 sqm property. The Hamburg Buddhist Center is owned by the Diamond Way Buddhism Foundation.
