Braunschweig
Our 180 members have been renovating the Braunschweig Buddhist Center on a voluntary basis since 2003. The ”Buddha factory" offers 1,800 square meters of floor space in the rooms of a former iron foundry. Here we host the Logos Buchvertrieb, a mail order book store for Buddhist literature. We also give place for the statue-making studio of the Buddhist Institute for Tibetan Art (BINTA). The three almost life-size clay Buddha statues in our meditation hall come from this workshop. Their example shows the quality of the statues that are created here from the close collaboration between Asian statue builders and European artists.
In addition to the daily meditations, we regularly offer lectures and are a venue for Buddhist courses and work meetings far beyond the region. Many important teachers have already been our guests, such as Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Lama Ole Nydahl and Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche. We look forward to school classes visiting and support teachers on the subject of Buddhism. Those who come often can also use our library.
